I’ve been touched. I got myself an iPod Touch while I was at Singapore recently. There should be a t-shirt with the phrase “I went to Singapore and all I got was an iPod Touch” on it. Apple’s iPod’s are a little bit cheaper in Singapore then it is in Malaysia.

I bought my iPod Touch at Club 21 over at Cineleisure Orchard road. They were having an offer, buy a MacBook Pro and get a free Xbox 360.

Supermodel Ipod

Owning an iPod Touch is like having a slim sexy hot supermodel for a girlfriend. First few hours with it was intimidating. Then when you get to know each other closer, you know where to touch, what to touch, things gets better.

Just like your hot supermodel girlfriend, the iPod Touch will turn heads when you go out with it. People will come up to you and ask about your iPod device. They have no interest in you by any means, just your iPod.

I was at some pasta restaurant, while waiting for my food to arrive, I took out my iPod Touch to search for an open wifi signal I can use.

“It’s that an MP4 player? It’s very slim. Oh it’s the new iPod. You can surf with that? can you open Facebook on that?” said the waitress.

Ipod Itunes

Hot sexy supermodel girlfriend, are very choosy. The iPod Touch is same in a way that, its very choosy about what media or data it accepts. You can only use iTunes to sync, transfer media files to your iPod Touch. Music, video, and photos, everything need to sync to your Touch via iTunes. You can’t just dump any video format on it and expect it to play.

Most sexy supermodel girlfriend need to accessorize. You will end up buying tons of things from jewelry, shoes to expensive clothes. The iPod Touch is no different.

I’m currently looking for a case for my iPod Touch. I need a speaker or stereo attachment so that I could listen to it at my room with out the earphone. I also need a new Mac, my PowerBook G4 with USB 1.1 takes decades to sync my Touch. A new in-car stereo head unit with a iPod attachment or a AUX port so I could listen to my iPod in my car. Heck may be I should get a new car. The iPod FM tuner gives a not-so-good audio quality.

I welcome any recommendations.

So far it sounds like such a hassle, but when you got to play with it, touch and pinch, your sexy slim supermodel girlfriend, in this case I mean the iPod Touch, it is all worth it.

The MacBook Air did get all the limelight on the recent MacWorld expo. However the main idea, what Apple is trying to push on the expo, is the word ‘Air’

“Something’s in the Air”.

Tumblr

Introducing my ‘Lifestream‘, that is what I call my tumbleog hosted on Tumblr. If blogs are journals then a tumblelog is something like a scrapbook. Designed for shot posts, a simple minimalist blog.

Tumblr makes posting a tumbleog easy. There are seven type of posting, normal text, photos, quotes, links, chat transcript, audio and video. There are no commenting system, which is actually a feature I like. I use Tumblr to share bits and pieces of my life on the web. I wouldn’t want or care about what anybody says about it.

Photos from my camera phone are posted on tumblr, sometime almost instantly. With the new feeds feature, tumblr now can pull feeds from the web straight to my tumblr page. My twiter updates goes to my tumblr page. New entries from my blog or other blogs that I write on also get posted on my tumblr page.

Tumblr is the best place to track my updates on the web. Basically almost everything I do on the web, if there is a feed, tumblr could track it.

It also has a kick ass archive page. The way all your post are presented as if you have your whole life record on it. Check out my Tumblr page at jibone.tumblr.com or create one for yourself.

For once the rumors are dead on. Just now Steve Jobs announced Apple’s new ultra-portable, ultra-thin, may be I should rephrase it, the absurdly thin Mac laptop the could fit inside an envelope, the MacBook Air.

So far from the photos I’m looking at on Apple’s website, the thing is stunning. It’s an engineering marvel that they manage to fit a full Mac OSX into the thin machine.

There is more, it’s not just your average MacBook shrunk. First of all you’ll notice the bigger then average trackpad size on MacBook Air. No, it’s not an illusion, because the machine is tiny that you think the trackpad looks bigger. There is a reason for the fair amount of trackpad size.

Apple had incorporated their multi-touch gesture, ala iPhone on the new MacBook Air. You can now pinch, rotate and do all the other fun two finger gesture that you can do on your iPhone or iPod Touch. All that on the trackpad.

Also, the other think you’ll notice is that MacBook Air has no CD/DVD drive. Not even an attachment. Could this be a trend Apple is setting? Remember, Apple is the one that remove the floppy drive from their machines.

Apple said in their sales copy that: -

MacBook Air has shed something you no longer need: the optical drive. That’s because MacBook Air is built for the wireless world. So instead of watching DVDs, you can rent movies wirelessly from the iTunes Store. And instead of backing up files to a stack of discs, you can back up files wirelessly using Apple’s new Time Capsule.

There will also a new feature called Remote Disc there you could access CD or DVD on other Mac as if it’s your local drive. I guess this is how MacBook Air will be writing to CD or DVD media.

This makes me wonder, how are you going to upgrade it’s OS? How do we install new OSX later on?

Also don’t forget to check out MyMacBUZZ, Malaysian Mac/Apple blog, in which I occasionally blog on together with the blogjunkie, David Wang and Justin Koh. I’m pretty sure they will have some info on the availability and pricing of MacBook Air in Malaysia soon.
