Changed this section from ‘Linux Chaser‘ to ‘Open Source Chaser‘, just to be more general in posting on this topic. I am interested in other Open Source projects and not just Linux.

  • Ars Technica has a nice write-up on Haiku, a project devoted to creating an open-source clone off BeOS. Yeas the little OS that was ahead of its time when it was developed by a little company known as Be. I tried it once back then. Too bad it didn’t catch up. I’ll surely give Haiku a try.
  • Fluxbuntu is an Ubuntu distribution based on the super light weight X window manager Fluxbox as opposed to the default desktop environment Gnome that comes with the official Ubuntu. Check out Techthrob for a review. Not for someone new to Linux but might just be perfect with experience Linux users.
  • Madpenguin.org takes a look at what lies for Linux as it move forward to the future.
