Twittering from Sunburst Music Festival

Sunburst

Tomorrow I’ll be going to the Sunburst KL 08 Music Festival at Bukit Kiara. Being a geek, I’ll be twittering and tumbleloging live from the event. Follow my tweets and check out my tumblelog for live updates from the event.

Sunburst KL 08 Music Festival is the largest outdoor multi-genre music festival. The first time in Kuala Lumpur. A melting pot of R&B, Hip-Hop, Rock and Jazz’s finest stars in one place spanning over 4 stages for 12 hours. Sunburst brings international acts like John Legend, The Roots Incubus and Incognito together with regional superstars like Tompi and Gigi as well as local superstars Joe Flizzow, Pop-Shuvit, Gerhana Ska Cinta and Search together with some of the finest local indie bands like Hujan, One Buck Short, Love Me Butch, Bittersweet, Estranged, Tempered Mental and Meet Uncle Hussein. Just to name a few. There is something for everyone.

It would be interesting to see how they are going to have 26 live performances spread out over 4 stage and cramped into 12 hour of continuous music. I’ll be twittering and tumbleloging from the event.

Twitter

Twitter is a social networking / micro-blogging web service. I’m a late comer on Twitter but now I found myself using it a lot. Twitter allows users to send “updates” also known as “tweets”, text based posts up to 140 characters long to the Twitter website. Users could send messages via SMS, instant messaging or third-party application such as Twitterrific. Third-party application are possible because Twitter released its APIs.

Basically Twitter is a web service for friends, family and co-workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question, “what are you doing?”. Bloggers have been using this as a micro-blogging tool for short and quick updates.

Updates displayed on users profile page could be followed by other registered users. The sender can restrict delivery to those in his or her circle of friends. I’ve been using Twitter as a stalker tool to get updates from new media tech geek personalities like Leo Laporte, Merlin Mann, Amber Mac, Michael Arrington and much more.

I’ve getting a lot of updates on what is happening on SxSW. Together with Pownce, which is a whole different web thingy that I’ll talk about in a different post, I’ve been discovering some awesome music, thanks to those who upload the files on Pownce.

Follow me on Twitter and also check out my tumblelog for updates and photos live from the event.

Anybody going to Sunburst? Let’s meet-up and hangout.
