I am not a big fan of politics. I don’t pay much attention to the politic-o-sphere but I do try to keep a keen eye on the blog-o-sphere. See how I’m creating words as I go along, I’m cool in that way.
I don’t read political based blogs. I try to avoid them like cats avoid water. However, when Tun Dr. Mahathir starts to blog (www.chedet.com), it’s difficult to ignore.
During his college days at King Edward VII Medical College, Tun Dr. Mahathir edited a medical student magazine called The Cauldron and he also contributed to The Straits Times newspaper anonymously under the nickname “Che Det”. So blogging would come as natural to Tun Mahathir. Only this time Che Det isn’t that so anonymous.
Check out the number of comments on each post gets especially the later ones. It’s ridiculous. This is just the reason why more politician should blog. I’ve said it before that blogs could open up the line of communication between you and directly to your target audience.
I compared the traffic analyzed by Alexa with other known political bloggers. Alexa’s result might be debatable, but that is the best information I could use at the moment.
Compared Tun Mahathir’s blog ‘www.chedet.com’ with other popular blogs by different politician – most of them are of the opposition party – you could see how popular Tun Mahathir’s blog.

The graph shows the traffic each blogs gets. Blogs being compared are, chedet.com (Tun Mahathir’s blog), limkitsiang.com (Lim Kit Siang), jeffooi.com (Jeff Ooi), teresakok.com (Teresa Kok) and not to forget, anwaribrahimblog.com (Anwar Ibrahim).
You can see chedet’s rise to fame beating the rest of the pack. This is interesting. I think I’ll do all my political analysis based on their blog performance from now on.
