This is a follow up on Rock on Rave, as posted yesterday. The second day of Rock on Rave was much better then the day before. This time they started on time but the crowd wasn’t. I thought I was early, there are more ‘security’ then fans. I wasn’t early because Bunkface was playing.
Apparently I bring my camera but not its battery. Silly, I know. Fortunately I live near by, so it was much of a problem. When back, had lunch at Little Penang, then back to the action.
Lightcraft

Manage to persuade Belle to come. Lightcraft was playing as we get back on the rooftop. It’s my first time listening to them and seeing them perform. Although they claimed were having some technical sound issues, but their performance manage to convince me enough to get their EP.
Prema Yin

Next up was a cool rocker chick Prema Yin. Also a first time for me. She has attitude and knows how to use it. Also check out her myspace page and Amp page.
They Will Kill Us All

After that things really gets pumped up as all the heavy hitters starts take to the stage. They Will Kill Us All, just killed us all with their awesome performance.
Bittersweet

The crowd gets more excited when Bittersweet with their usual blend of style gets on the stage. They open with an all time favorite ‘Capitol E’, tried a few new songs, and end it with a crowd sing along ‘Kucing Hitam‘.
Couple

The event took a short break, to respect the muslim praying time. Nightfall, it’s Couple‘s turn to perform. The all-time darlings of the underground scene does not disappoint. Indie pop all the way. Crowd went crazy over ‘Rock n Roll’.
NAO

Next was NAO a Malaysian Chinese band. This band wowed the crowds with their mad instrumental skills. They thought most people there wont be able to understand what they are singing as most of their songs are in Mandarin, so they decided to screw the lyrics. Who needs lyrics when the music is this good.
Killeur Calculateur

Next up was the Killeur Calculateur. Malaysia’s best kept indie secret. Their screamo post-punk sound rocked the crowd at Rock on Rave. They pump up the excitement for the bands yet to come.
Restraint

When Restraint took the stage, it is hardcore trash metal all the way. Non-stop mosh pit, circle pit you name it. Restraint set the phase for next bands.
Cassandra

More hardcore bands follow through including Cassandra. Hardcore bands continue to entertain the crowd. Those who come for the rave, have to sit back and wait a little while longer as hardcore music fans enjoying themselves, moshing each other.
Oh Chentaku

The final band to perform was Oh Chentaku, what everyone is waiting for. It was they one year anniversary as a band. Superb performance. Violin chick rocks. Tuning while halfway into opening a song, classic. I’m glad that I actually waited. Read more about Oh Chentaku here.
Rock on Rave could be better. Bigger stage. An actual stage canopy not some small canopy covering it. Better lighting.
Some of the proceeds goes to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in support of their causes towards the environment. That’s cool.
Photos of the event will be on my Flickr page soon.
