Wanted movie should be made into a game

Written by J Shamsul, Friday, August 1, 2008 | 0

Just finished watching ‘Wanted‘, the action movie based loosely on the comic book miniseries of the same name by Mark Millar. It stars Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman and some other actors I can’t remember.

The story revolves around a character named Wesley Gibson, who starts out as a god forsaken, disaffected, cube-dwelling, clock-punching drone. His life are nothing but boredom and routine. A similar tone to the movie Fight Club, one of my favorite movie ever.

One day, Wesley was picked up by the sexy foxy woman named Fox. Everything changes. He was introduced to a world of bullet bending super assassin killers, that belonged to a super secret society known as The Fraternity. They then train him to bend bullets, how to kill, how to feel no pain and eventually become one of them.

I wish a sexy Angelina look-alike would pick me up to join her fraternity too, don’t we all?

Anyway I think the movie was ok, not The Dark Knight great but still enjoyable. However, while watching each action scene, I can’t help but to think how awesome it would be if this was a game. I would love to play the Wesley character. The movie and its plot all are all the making of a great game.

You play as Wesley. You join this fraternity of badass assassin. You when through a series of training. This is where you learn the game play. When you done with the training, you get your first target, your first assignment.

This is where it gets interesting. You’ll have more then one way to kill your target. Either you go in gun blazing or plan a more sneaky way. Similar to such games like Hitman.

The more creative the way you get your target, the more you will be rewarded. Try to get your target from what seems impossible angle. Try bending bullets and such. Now that would be fun.

Also with your special abilities. You will be able to slow down the rest of the game, aim and shoot. Just like the bullet time effect you get from the game Max Payne. Instead of avoiding enemy shots, use you bullet time abilities to shot the enemy’s bullet. How cool is that?

All this is making me want to dust of my old PC, set it up nicely, install Max Pain and kill some bad guys. Unfortunately my hardware, which was once the cream of the crop, super elite high-end spec, able to run Morwind, Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament, are now considered to be ancient, something you would find in a museum.

I need a new gaming PC.
