Weight-loss is a normal result of this type of surgery, and does not in itself indicate reduced life expectancy. He may never regain his pre-op weight. But as long as he can resume normal activity and his weight remains stable (as it appears to be), there is no cause for alarm. AAPL has always be a volatile stock. While Steve's health may be a concern for some, I suspect that investors are reacting to a lack of any radically new announced products coupled with general economic uncertainty. And the contrast wouldn't look correct if he was thinner than an iPod or notebook computer. Hey, it's all about image with Apple.
