Finally it is done, and the new theme is up. Critics will be shot with a sniper rifle, survivors will be shot again. New Jiboneus.com blog theme breaks away from typical blog mold.
Inspired by Derek Punsalan’s ‘The Understand’ Wordpress theme, it shares the same concept of breaking away from reverse chronological text heavy front pages. The new theme emphasize more on visual and imagery to lure visitors deeper.
Even-though it may look similar to ‘The Understand’ Wordpress theme but this theme has a different code base. I wanted the flexibility to make changes which is why I end up creating it from scratch.
Just like ‘The Understand’ theme, each post as two visual imagery associated with it. One big and one smaller. You can see those images in action on the front page. The big image is once again used on the post as the to title.
It takes longer then I had predicted to make the changes to this theme. I had to go back and create two sets on imagery for each of the post I have. Lucky for me this is a new, not yet a year old blog and I only have about 90 or so blog post.
If you are interested in using a theme like this on your Wordpress blog, I suggest you try out Derek Punsalan’s The Understand. I am not releasing this theme I’m using anytime soon because, well I don’t want other people see how messy currently my codes are.
There are a lot of things to fix. Expect things to change form time to time as I am still in the process of tweaking and enhancing the theme. Once it’s more stable, maybe then I’ll release it.
