Have you had a day where nothing goes as plan? Today was that day for me. I had plan to go to a friend’s wedding in Putrajaya then straight to Sentul KLPAC to catch Yuna’s mini concert for her EP launch.
I over slept. Stayed up late the night before.
Decided to skip the wedding and went straight to KLPAC for Yuna’s EP launching. It’s my second time to KLPac and it still amazes me to see such a place, such beautiful landscape to exist in the middle of a chaotic city.
The first time I went to KLPAC was for Urbanscape. Which was also the first time I plan to watch Yuna perform live after reading all the hype about her and listening to some songs on her MySpace page.
I fail to do so, as by the time it was Yuna’s turn to perform, the acoustic room was pack to the door. I manage to catch a gleams of her performance in between multiple heads of people standing at the entrance. Those people who like myself, wasn’t able to get a spot inside.

It is on the Indie Youth Fest that I was able to see her live performance. I understand then why Yuna is one of the top rising crop of local talented singer and songwriters. Her presents draws in the crowd. Her sweet voice charms the audiences.
One part Norah Jones, one part Feist. Add some Dido with some Fiona Apple and maybe a pinch of Tori Amos, you get Yuna. All original with original songs, in a class of its own.

Obviously when I heard that she is finally launching her EP, I just have to get one. The EP launching event took place at KLPAC with a mini concert by Yuna and opening act by Sundae and Otam.
I reached KLPAC only to find out that her tickets are all sold out. Since it mentioned on the flyer that the mini concert will be on the KLPAC foyer, I thought the tickets won’t be sold out or worst I just find some random conner to stand at.
I was wrong. I had forgotten what had happened the last time on Urbanscape. I forgot about Yuna’s uncanny ability to fill a room with people wanting to hear her sing. The foyer was pack there wasn’t any room left.
At least I manage to get her EP.

There are five beautiful songs in this EP. Yuna’s first EP. I wish there were more. These are the first two tracks from the EP, just so that you could have a taste of Yuna.

To listen to the rest of her songs you will just have to buy her EP. Also check out her MySpace page for her playlist of new songs.
This maybe is just the early stages of her music journey. In which I believe is going to be a long journey for her. She has the potential to go far.
So what if she wears tudung?
