Moving to a new home is a daunting process. Packing and unpacking, living in a room full of boxes. I had to go through 3 or 4 boxes just to find the rest of my stuff. The unpacking is still far from over, but it’s livable at the moment. When it comes to procrastination, I am the expert.
To make matters worst, my trusty old PowerBook G4 died on me. It starts with random crashes then the CD won’t eject form the slot loading bay, and finally it just wont boot. Stuck on the gray Apple logo. The hard drive fails. The signs of old age.
So I’m moving most of my stuff to the cloud. Cloud Computing is the future, and it’s about time for me to embrace it. I’m typing this and all of my future blog post draft on Google Docs, so that any computer I go to, I’ll have access to my writings. I use Gmail to retrieve all my email from different POP accounts. This way I’ll have all my e-mails in one place and I don’t have to worry about loosing any of the emails, Google’s Gmail does a good job at archiving my emails on its cloud, somewhere in Googleplex or wherever. I’m also moving to Google Reader to consume all my RSS feeds needs.
Google is not the only ‘cloud’ based solution out there, however it seems that they had an upper hand in it. I’ll write more about Cloud Computing in future post. Watch this space. Promise it won’t be too geeky.
This is just a short update.
