It’s 2009 and Jiboneus had a redesign in order to incorporate a few new features I’m working on. Yes my blog has features. Here is what coming to Jiboneus on 2009.

Facebook Connect

Facebook, the online social network that everybody seem to be on right now, had recently launch Facebook Connect service. It’s basically a Facebook API call service that provides a secure layer of authentication mechanism to integrate partial Facebook feature to your own website. Facebook connects enable your site to retrieve data from a Facebook account or send it back.

You can now, sign in to Jiboneus.com with your Facebook account to post comments. By signing on with your Facebook account, Jiboneus could then pull data such as your name and profile picture and automatically includes it in your comment post. There is also an option to add a line on your Facebook news feed that you had recently commented on a blog post on Jiboneus.com.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of what Facebook Connect API could do. Already I have a few ideas for a Facebook Connect website that I would love to work on if I had the time.

Share and spread the word

There are a lot of web aggregator out there. Social bookmarks, and website where one could share web links with their friends. Among all of these websites I’ve decided on six of them in which I use for myself quite often.

If there is a blog post you like, let all you friends know by sharing on Facebook, tweet it on Twitter, bookmark in on Delicious, submit it to Digg, Reddit or Technorati. Spread the word out.

Online ads

You may notice the amount of ads increases in this update. Well I’ve a life style to support and the current ad revenue just barely cover my hosting fees. I’ve move to Media Temple since last year, they are not the cheapest bunch, but they provide good services.

The ads placement will be as unobstructive as possible. It will never get in the way of the content. I promise you that.

Bands, artists and music

Expect to see more write-up on artists and bands from both the local and abroad indie and sometime mainstream scene. Yes, overseas artist will be featured and talk about. As usual I’ll embed songs and track from them for as long as I don’t get in trouble.

My objective is to featured their music and let readers sample some of their tracks. If they like it, they’ll find a way to buy or contribute back to the artists.

Movies big screen and small screen

Expect to see more movie reviews coming on 2009. However don’t expect to see a lot of new latest high budget blockbuster flicks reviewed here. You can expect to see reviews of some cult classic that you might or might not have seen yet. Also some of the new movies which I think will become a cult classic.

Anime review

Anime has been apart of my life since I was a little kid. From Americanize anime, Robotech and stuff to Japan anime, I’m a huge fan of the art. Anime review is something I plan to have more this time around. Bringing out the inner otaku in me.

Lets geek out

From time to time, I’ll geek out a little bit. Talk about tech and stuff. Tech tips, how to, and reviews. Expect to see a write up and a how to on implementing Facebook Connect on your site.

Book review

One of my new year resolution is to read more books. I like reading books. However lately I can’t find the time to indulge in this. So as an effort to make me read more, I decide to have a book review category to this blog.

And lastly

This all are every ambitious goals set for this little blog, then again I say “Yes we can!”.
