You might have already heard of the TED conference. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design, an annual conference that defines its mission as “ideas worth spreading”. Inspirational speakers giving inspirational talks.

I’ve download and watch almost all of the talks on my iPod. If this is your first time hearing about TED, I suggest you visit its website and check out videos of the talks. Free to watch.

TEDx on the other hand, is an independently organized TED events. While it’s not really an official TED event, it shares the same spirit with TED.

In the spirit of “Ideas Worth Spreading,” TEDx is a program that enables schools, businesses, libraries or just groups of friends to enjoy a TED-like experience through events they themselves organize, design and host.

TEDxKualaLumpur is the first TEDx event here in Kuala Lumpur, it will be held on 3rd June 2009 (tomorrow!) at Plug and Play Technology Garden, Mid Valley City. Sorry for the late notice, as it just came to our attention.

I’ll try to make it there. I’ve always wanted to go to the TED conference, I guess this is the best I can get, for now.
