Third 15Malaysia film is The Tree directed by Amir Muhammad. The film features Malaysia’s most influential spiritual leader Nik Aziz giving his commentary on the virtuous and Islamic way to conduct ethical commerce in his inimitable style.
Unfortunately I think that the film fails to show more of Kelantan, if that was the intent of the project. However we got to see more of PAS advisor Nik Aziz in a different light, not as the opposition political leader but more of a village elder talking. Something we don’t get to see often in mainstream media.
His talk wasn’t political at all. At the core it’s about Islam as a way of life and Islam in commerce. He uses the ‘tree’ metaphor.
Whenever you plan a tree, whatever that came out for it is acts as a charity from you. From it’s fruits to the trunks, to the birds making their nest on it, to people taking shades under the tree.
In other words whatever you do, your work you benefits from it either directly or indirectly. Charity is a universal currency and you don’t even realize you’ve given it. I wonder if this applies to blogging?
