I don’t know which of this will come first. The rise of machines where all machine will become self-aware and starts to kill us, or the rise of the undead, either mystically or some strange virus/radiation that turns the dead into flesh eating zombies. Just incase it’s the zombies, I’ve prepared myself by watching five of my all time favorite zombies movies, no Resident Evil is not on the list. This is research.
28 Days Later

Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later offers some realism in the zombie movie genre. The film follows a bicycle courier awakens from a coma 28 days after a virus outbreak that turns almost everyone into flash eating zombies. He found himself in the middle of a deserted post-apocolytic London.

He then finds other survivors, and together they had to fend of infected humans with whatever at their disposal. 28 Days Later is different from your typical Hollywood zombie film as the characters didn’t go all gun blazing and this zombie film also does not relied too much on gore to scare you. Nevertheless, you’ll be scared shitless watching this, at least I was.
28 Weeks Later

A sequel to 28 Day Later, this movie as the title suggest, take place 28 weeks later. This time we see more of the post-apocolytic London. Over the course of 28 weeks following the original out break, most of the infected i.e. zombies, have already starved to death. Britain has been declared relatively safe, and re-population has begun. So it seems.
The Evil Dead

No doubt this is a legend among zombies movie. Directed by Sam Raimi, this 80′s horror films might just be every zombie survivor’s bible. Who would have guessed that five friends going to a cabin in the woods would unleash hell on earth. Only one among the five survive as a non-zombie, and with a chainsaw in hand he sets to fight the onslaught of the evil undead. This is the ultimate zombie survivor film.
Shaun of the Dead

This British zombie movie is both scary and funny at the same time. One could say that this is a modernize Evil Dead. The movie is about Shaun, who had a crappy day to begin with, and found himself and his girlfriend stuck in a town full of zombies. You pretty much can figure out what happen next.
Fido

Lastly is Fido. This is not really a zombie survivor horror film. It’s more of a comedy featuring zombies. If you can’t beat them (the zombies) learn to live with them.
Fido takes palce in a 1950s-esque alternate universe apparently some weird radiation from space turns the dead into flesh eating zombies. A corporation then invents collars for the zombies with remote control that could control the zombie’s hunger and they could be used as servants or made into slaves.

A family then gets themselves one of this zombie servant and their son named their zombie Fido. They become good friends. Suddenly Fido’s collar malfunction and Fido then kills the next door neighbor. He eats the neighbor. The kid tries to protect Fido from the authorities. It’s a fun movie that deals the complexities of human-zombie relationships.
Bonus: Zombie Kampung Pisang

As a bonus I suggest you also watch Zombie Kambung Pisang. A film by Mamat Khalid, Zombie Kampung Pisang is a typical zombie movie, however it’s set in a Malaysian village. Expect to see some hilarious scenes as the villagers tries to figure out what had happened. The opening of this film was shot as if its an 80s horror film.
There you go, 5 (plus one bonus) great zombie movie for you to watch and prepare yourself for the imminent zombie invasion. Do you have a favorite zombie movie? share it with us in the comments section.

I thought I keep this spam just because, Jiboneus + Zombies = Jombies! hehe
