Before there were Sunburst, before there were Urbanscapes, there was Rock The World. Once Malaysia’s largest music festival organized by Fatboys Record and they didn’t disappoint us this year by bringing Rock The World 9.

Rock The World have its humble beginning started form the idea of a parking lot Rock concert, now a full house stadium event. Some even go as far as calling it the Malaysia’s Woodstock. This year however it has a different vibe, well at least to me. Rock The World 9 will be held at Sunway Lagoon Theme Park.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m pretty sure the organizers have plans to make this event bigger and better then the previous ones. It’s just that the past Rock The World always has this grungy, low-fi, ‘rock’ feeling to it. Fans came dressed up in their black leather jacket, thigh jeans and mohawk hair styles. I don’t see this scene happening in say a theme park, but then again we’ll never know. This year’s poster also has a fun-beach-theme-park-ish feel to it as compared with the other flyers.

Anyway it looks like Rock The World is coming and they promise 3 stages and more then 50 artist this time. They haven’t released the actual line up yet, be sure to watch this space for updates.
