Giant robots accompanied by a squadron of spacecraft starts to appear around Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. The walked to key buildings as citizens wonders what are they and why are they here. Then they fired their missiles blowing up key buildings. Panic and chaos erupts among the people in Montevideo as they run for cover.
Military fighter jets were send to take control of the situation but they were face with challenging aerial dogfights with the highly advance spacecraft. Few of the robots start coming together and fuse together into a giant ball. They self-detonates engulfing the city in a fire destroying what’s left of the city.
No explanation were given for the attack.
That is not a plot of a summer blockbuster coming soon cinemas near you. That is a plot of a short sci-fi flick directed by an Uruguayan filmmaker, Fade Alvarez. With just the budget of $300, the short film has some remarkable visuals done with computer generated imagery.
The video starts making rounds on the Internet. Word of mouth spreads fast, and gets widespread media coverage. The short video also gets Fade Alvarez a $30 million Hollywood contract with Sam Raimi (of The Evil Dead fame) to direct a feature length movie. It does not has to be Panic Attack, but whatever this independent Uruguayan filmmaker is making, we’ll be waiting.
