Finally, it’s done. I’ve successfully transfered everything that needed to be transfered. Jiboneus.com now has a new home. This site now is occupying a small chunk of space on the hundreds of servers that makes up the (mt) Media Temple’s highly dynamic clustered scalability (gs) Grid-Service.

I left my past hosting provider, Shinjiru for (mt) Media Temple. There is nothing wrong with Shinjiru, I’ve been hosting with them for years now. Great support. Good enough if you are looking for a reliable shared server hosting with good PHP and MySQL support.

The reason for my switch to (mt) Media Temple is because I wanted more features and control on my hosting. Of cause for total control, I’ve need to get myself a VPS (virtual private server) type of solution. I have yet able to afford such service.

Also I plan to play around with Ruby on Rails in the near feature. So (mt) Media Temple’s (gs) Grid-Service with its Ruby/Mongrel container looks like a good choice.

It is no secret that I have plans to monetize this blog. The new theme now support Google Adsense. The traffic to this blog might not be outstanding but there is an increasing trend, which is good.

I’ve been monetizing my other blog (no longer in operation). I might not make as much as all those so called probloggers, but I got an extra USD100++ (That’s RM300++) every 3 or 4 months or so. I’m not complaining. Geek lifestyle is expensive.

The ads placements on this blog are still very experimental. I try to make the a clear separation between ads and content. I feel that the content should be in focus more then the ads. I might move things around for this couple of weeks.

Time to get a little bit more geeky. This blog is not just about music, gigs, blogs, and web stuff, sometimes I would like to get a little bit more on the geek side. I’ve install a Wordpress code syntax highlighting plugin, wp-syntax. This is nothing but a test post. I’ll be sharing some of my codes in the future.

What you are experiencing here is far from what I had envisioned for the end result of this site. There are still things need to do but if I don’t launch it now, I doubt I’ll ever be able to launch it if I were to wait until everything is done.

The current setup is Wordpress 2 with the theme builded from scratch, and it’s still untitled.

Pending issues are, theme needs more tweaking and CSS needs optimizing. Need to code a search field, notice there is no search feature. I might move things around from time to time.

If I stop sleeping, I might just get things done. Sleeping is for the weak anyway.

A long time ago, somewhere in cyberspace, there lies a weblog. People from near and far had come for the information that grew on its pages and to participated. Just like a beautiful tree the blog grows as more and more people come to read and share from it.

Then one day for some strange reason the blog stop growing. No new entries. People keep visiting the site only to find out that it hadn’t grown since the last visits. Loyal visitors wanted to see the blog grows, update as the seasons are evolving and its pages wont be able to withstand the winds of progress.

The blog stood lifeless. Months goes by, and visitors stopped coming to the site. Low-life organism known as spammers and their spambots started crawling to the blog rotting it with viagra, penis enlargement, sex and porn offering ads.

The blog still stood lifeless. However a seed from that once beautiful tree is now ready to grow, to become a better tree then it’s predecessor.

And with that I announced my return to this crazy world we call blogosphere.

I’ve cleaned up the spams on my previous blog. I decided to keep the old blog up as a reference. All comments, trackbacks and pingbacks are off.
