Now as I am writing this the air outside is damp, I can hear thunder occasionally (the not so loud sort) and crickets chirping outside my window, I know it’s going to rain. Last Saturday, A group of like minded Malaysian, mostly consist of the younger generation gathered at Bangsar LRT station. They brought along with them a piece of string which they tie together making one really long string, and then they went for a walk. You are stuck in an airport with strangers. Newark Liberty International Airport to be exact. Apparently there has just been a security breach. The whole of Terminal C was evacuated and a total lockdown. Not knowing what had happened your thoughts are running wild. It started with a Facebook video named ‘Tapau’ someone told me to watch. The word ‘Tapau’ is a common term in Malaysia used when you want to take away food bought from a hawker stall. So why does a show featuring local independent artists and musicians is called ‘Tapau’?
