The traffic heading into Ampang is evil, passing the Korean Town opposite of Ampang Point the road gets narrower and cars start to congregate. It’s like going to the post office with only 2 out of 14 counters open. At first you feel absolutely annoyed, start to blame society and finally gave into the situation and blame it on fate. When I say Ampang I don’t really mean the glitzy Jalan Ampang where KLCC and Quatro is located, no we’re not that big yet to go and review famous popular bands, not yet at least, this is the side of Ampang where you have a row of restaurants facing a big ‘longkang’ in which they call it the Ampang Waterfront. Finally the moment we all been waiting for, Pineapple Concerts had announced it’s Sunburst 09 artist lineup. All hell broke loose as fans got to know about the somewhat disappointing lineup.

At first glance, it looked like more of a Rock The World lineup then Sunburst. Unlike Rock The World, where we could aspect great local acts, Sunburst was suppose to be the event that brings some of the biggest, international acts, playing side by side with regional superstars and home grown local talent from Malaysia.

However, the announced lineup does not holds up to people’s expectation as people are expecting to be more then the last Sunburst. With only N.E.R.D as the only international artist headlining the event, people are starting to resell their early bird tickets.

Last Saturday, we saw BB Plaza’s rooftop car park area transformed into a venue of music, arts design and fashion. All hell broke loose as teenage fans gathered in a small confine area for a free gig and some cheap thrill. There are now quite a number of local indie bands and artists featured on Jiboneus. I don’t write just about any band that I came across, just only the ones that I like.

Normally I don’t write about bands that I have not yet been to any of their performances and also bands that has not release any official albums, or EPs.

However, I have to make exception for this band known as Selamat Pagi Gadis. I had never seen them perform live, and yet I like them enough to be featured on Jiboneus.
